Confident[break]
Nikolai is good at what he does, and he knows it. His confidence in himself and his abilities actually borders extremely on arrogance. He doesn't exactly boast about what he can do, but he goes into fights with the expectation that he'll win. This also translates to when he has to deal with people. He expects to get exactly what he wants from them without fail. It'll honestly probably be his downfall someday.[break][break]
Observant[break]
Although dealing with people isn't Nikolai's strongest point, he's good at learning about them by watching. He's trained himself to look for tics that tell him about lies, deceit, if they're into something, etc. It was useful in his job as a hit wizard and is even more useful to him now. [break][break]
Solitary[break]
There was only ever one person that Nikolai ever let himself open up to any amount and his sister didn't get to poke at his brain that much. He doesn't feel the loneliness he should from having no relationships with other people or any pets, and it's never bothered him. If anything, he prefers it because it means no one can betray him or hurt him.[break][break]
Calculating[break]
Although he is very confident in what he does, Nikolai also understands that rushing in without a plan is a good way to get killed, so he sits back and watches first. Even during the times he's gotten attacked spontaneously, he spent any spare second making a plan, looking for weakness, gauging his opponents skills, etc. [break][break]
Deceitful[break]
Nikolai is not afraid to hurt other people to further his goals. And he never feels bad about it either. If being the nice guy gets him information or something else he needs, he can do that and then turn around and stab the person that helped him in the back to cover his tracks again. [break][break]
Sadistic[break]
Much like a lot of other unsavory behaviors, torture is not beneath Nikolai. If anything, it's the only thing in his life that he's not totally indifferent to, taking great pleasure from watching his enemies bleed. [break][break]

Born in March 1991 in Russia, Nikolai is the second of two children and the only boy. Even as a child it was clear there wasn't something quite right about him as he exhibited what can only be described as sociopathic tendencies. He's always been a bit detached from other people, his parents included, really only ever letting his older sister in. However, since he never caused any really noticeable problems for his family, they just sort of let him continue on how he was. [break][break]
It was clear from early on that Nikolai was going to be magical when he started shifting his appearance as just a toddler, and when he turned eleven he was shipped off to Durmstrang like his sister had been three years before. It was never discussed why his parents didn't send their children to the Russian magic school, but the two would realize many years later that it was a safety measure. [break][break]
During his time at school, Nikolai only got more and more dangerous, but the school could never prove anything because he could easily shift his appearance thanks to his Metamorphmagus skills. The only person that could ever reel him back in was his sister, and honestly she didn't try to that often because his antics amused her. It quickly earned them both a reputation for ruthlessness with their peers, and no one dared challenge them even after Nik's sister graduated and it was just him.[break][break]
When he was sixteen, Nikolai's parents shipped both of their children off to live in England, another measure taken to keep them safe from enemies lurking in the shadows. They told neither child about why they were being moved, and neither of the kids asked. That was the last time Nik heard from or saw his parents.[break][break]
Once he finally graduated, Nikolai followed his sister into the British ministry as a hit wizard. Growing up, he'd never really seen himself in a government position, but his sister was doing it and it seemed like it was suited to his skills. After being trained for the position, the higher ups quickly realized that both of the Aleksandrovs performed much better as a duo and continually paired them off for assignments. [break][break]
This carried on without a hitch for a mere two years when Nikolai got wind of something involving his parents and he took off to Russia on his own to investigate. However, his sister followed him there without his knowledge initially. Together they worked to solve just what it was their parents were involved in and ultimately learned they had been dead since shortly after sending their children away. The night before they were due to finally head back home to England again, the duo got attacked. Both of them sustained injuries but managed to kill the attackers. Unfortunately, though, just shy of getting to relax and celebrate as they would, Nikolai's sister collapsed from a mortal wound they had failed to tend to in time. [break][break]
In land that was no longer his home, Nikolai ended up burning his sister's body and swearing to destroy the entire organization that had taken his family from him. [break][break]
He returned to England again, just long enough to notify the Ministry that neither he nor his sister would be returning to their jobs, before heading out on the first lead he came across. In the five or six years since that day, he's managed to take out a good portion of those he'd sworn revenge against, and he can feel himself closing in on the people looming in the shadows and calling the shots.
